CuCo2Be (CW104C / C17500 / 2.1285 / RWMA Class III) is a high-performance engineering material based on copper and alloyed with cobalt (Co) and beryllium (Be). Offering both good electrical conductivity and high mechanical strength, it provides long-lasting and reliable performance under heavy-duty operating conditions.
This heat-treatable alloy falls under the Class III category and is preferred in applications such as welding technologies, mold components, springs, and precision connectors.
Technical Advantages:
- Medium-to-high electrical conductivity (45–60% IACS)
- High tensile and yield strength after heat treatment
- Resistance to thermal fatigue and wear
- Non-sparking and non-magnetic structure
- Good machinability in chip-removal processes
- Dimensional stability at elevated temperatures
Main Application Areas:
Welding Technologies: Resistance welding electrodes, pressure and support components
Mold Making: Injection mold plates, cooling channels, mold cores
Electronics & Automation: Springs, connector contacts, terminal components
Defense & Aerospace: Non-magnetic system components, radar parts
Energy Systems: High-voltage conductors, electrical transfer components
Standards and Compliance:
EN: CW104C
UNS / ASTM: C17500
