CuCoNiBe (CW103C / C17500 / 2.1285 / Class III) is a special copper alloy containing beryllium, cobalt, and nickel. This material delivers superior performance in applications that require both high electrical and thermal conductivity as well as excellent mechanical strength.
This alloy, defined under the C17500 standard, is supplied in wire, rod, plate, and profile forms and is an ideal choice for electrical connectors, mold components, welding electrodes, and high-voltage applications. After heat treatment, it reaches Class III properties, providing a balanced combination of hardness and conductivity.
Technical Advantages:
- Medium-to-high electrical conductivity (45–60% IACS)
- High tensile and yield strength (after heat treatment)
- Dimensional stability at elevated temperatures
- Wear and fatigue resistance
- Non-magnetic and non-sparking structure
- Good machinability and weldability
Main Application Areas:
Electrical & Electronics: Welding electrodes, high-voltage contacts, connector components
Mold Making: Plastic injection molds, EDM molds, compression molds
Defense & Aerospace: Thermal management systems, precision electronic components
Automotive: Resistance welding systems, engine components, terminals
Energy & Power Systems: Generator and transformer parts, grounding components
Quality Assurance and Standards:
CuCoNiBe (C17500) alloy is produced in full compliance with CW103C (EN), UNS C17500 (ASTM B441), DIN 2.1285, and RWMA Class III standards.
All products are shipped with the required material certificates, chemical analysis reports, and traceability documentation.
It is RoHS compliant and conforms to environmental regulations.
