CuZr (CW120C / C15000 / 2.1580) is a copper–zirconium alloy that offers high electrical conductivity combined with moderate mechanical strength. Classified under RWMA Class I, this material is preferred for applications requiring excellent thermal and electrical conductivity without sacrificing hardness.
CuZr is an ideal choice for welding technologies, electrical components, and heat-exposed parts. Owing to the zirconium addition, grain strengthening is achieved while maintaining high purity, resulting in improved resistance to oxidation at elevated temperatures.
Technical Advantages:
- Very high electrical conductivity (≥ 93–97% IACS)
- Moderate hardness and strength after heat treatment
- Strong resistance to oxidation and deformation at high temperatures
- Suitable for welding and brazing applications
Long-term surface stability
Anti-magnetic and non-sparking characteristics
Primary Application Areas:
Resistance Welding: Electrodes and contact components requiring high conductivity
Electrical & Electronics: Connectors, terminal ends, circuit elements
Thermal Management Systems: Cooling bars, heat transfer blocks
Defense & Aerospace: Precision parts requiring thermal stability
Automotive & Industrial: Brazing equipment, motor components
Quality Assurance & Standards:
The CuZr alloy fully complies with the following international standards:
EN: CW120C
ASTM / UNS: C15000
DIN: 2.1580
RWMA: Class I
All products undergo comprehensive quality control procedures—including chemical analysis, hardness measurement, conductivity testing, and microstructure inspection—and are delivered certified and fully traceable. The alloy is fully compliant with RoHS and REACH regulations.
